Jon Held has been entertaining audiences world wide for 25 years including 10 years of touring with the renowned juggling group Airjazz. (In 1982 Airjazz won the 1982 National Team Juggling Championship. In 1984 they appeared on the Tonight Show with Johnny Carson). The Airjazz collaboration was based on the incorporation of dance movemevent and the manipulation of props; utilizing both traditional and non-traditional juggling props.
Since the Airjazz days (Airjazz disbanded in 1991), Jon has developed a performance style which successfully integrates elements of movement, manipulation and narrative drama into a masterful work of theatre. "My desire is to move beyond the sensationalism of the technical juggling experience, and to construct a true harmony between juggling and the movement of the body, thereby creating a synergistic expression capable of depth and subtlety". His latest incarnations of this theatrical style are Total Eclipse of the Moon and Tales of Lunacy. Tales of lunacy was selected for participation in the SUMMER BLIZZARD, a program of development and performance sponsored by THREE LEGGED RACE in Minneapolis in August of 2002.
